Granny smith apple, kiwi fruits and citrus blossoms make an enchanting perfumed nose. The palate also delivers with intense tropical fruits providing excellent fruit weight while nuances of box hedge, cut grass and minerals provide interest and complexity. The cool vineyard site also allows good retention of natural acidity that is expressed in the minerality and persistence of flavour.

Aromas of granny smith apple and mango cheeks with green tea, vanilla and oatmeal. Intense tropical fruits including passionfruit and citrus dominate the front palate, but it’s the mid palate where the finest French coopered barrels show their class providing weight and texture. Fine natural acidity gives length and structure to the wine, finishing with a clean zesty finish.

The Stage Left Merlot is a medium body style with 55% of the fruit originating from our McLaren Vale vineyard - slightly softer, plummy and rounded - while the other 45% originate from Geoff Hardy's K1 vineyard in the Adelaide Hills to retain higher natural acidity and to add complexity, texture and finesse to the wine.

A delicious aromatic spectrum of cherries and strawberries leaps out when you swirl the glass, achieving the purity of fruit that comes when this variety is handled gently. The red fruits mingle with anise and clove spices while being supported by a faint hint of oak. The palate follows a similar line with the natural fruit sweet characters of Grenache being accompanied across the palate by a hint of truffles and earthiness. Soft tannins and refreshing acidity direct the wine to give a long elegant finish.

Rustic in nature, the nose led by savoury spice of cedar and clove, and underpinned by blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and violets. Elegant yet powerful, the palate offers flourishes of charred beets, anise and eucalypt giving brightness to the palate as a montage of rich, ripe tannins from both vineyard site and careful oak selection mingle to deliver a firm, persistent finish.

The Over the Top is Pertaringa’s very best Shiraz. The 2008 vintage is vibrant crimson in colour with purple hues followed by a perfumed floral lift on the nose and seductive aromas of bright red fruits including raspberry, cherry and rhubarb.Generously weighted blackberry and dark cherry flood the palate, supported by white pepper spice, liquorice root and savoury undertones of freshly turned earth.

Traditionally vinified and aged in the best new French oak, Pertaringa is most confident that every bottle of Rifle & Hunt will cellar well as have previous vintages. 

This liqueur fronti stars Rancio, with dried fruit aromas including sultanas, apricots and dates co-starring. The fruit flavours on the palate are a show not to be missed. This wine is the perfect encore for a fantastic meal!
